About Peter

Hi, my name is Peter,
I am a fully qualified Government accrediated Professional Angling Association (P.A.A) coach. Fly fishing is a great passion of mine and imparting all I have learnt to my students gives me joy and satisfaction. I have been fishing from the age of 5, I started Sea Fishing with my father and won the Angling Times Kingfisher Guild 3 times from the age of 12 to 16, culminating in becoming a Grade 1 member on a catch of Tope, Thornback Ray, Grey Mullet and others. In latter years, I have fished for the Hove Deep Sea Anglers (H.D.S.A).
I began Fly Fishing in 1990 and I took to it like 'a fish to water' I was given an invitation to fish for the English Team in the International Fly Fishing Association Team Championships, 'Peche a la Mouche' hosted by the French at Les 3 Lacs in Trept. In 2002, I caught a 20lb Brown Trout at Chalk Springs which was the Sussex record. I then qualified for the Troutmasters Final Competition in 2009/10, 10/11 and 11/12 and came 16th in Great Britain.
I decided to become a coach 15 years ago and acquired P.A.A qualifications in 2000 and upgraded to a Level 2, 2 years later. I enjoy fishing on many different levels and teach with a relaxed manner, inspiring confidence in my students whilst making the time interesting and informative. I believe Fly fishing is a wonderfully relaxing sport and can also be a competative experience.
